Four products. Five minutes. No twelve-step anything.
Something has quietly changed in Mauritius: men are buying skincare, and not shyly. Over 10,000 men walk through our doors every year — for face wash, for serum, for sunscreen, not just for beard oil. The questions we get most are always the same two: what do I actually need? and how long will this take every morning?
Here's the honest answer. You need four things, and the whole routine takes about as long as making coffee.
Why men's skin needs its own plan
Men's skin tends to be thicker, oilier and more prone to shine and congested pores — and if you shave, you're exfoliating your face with a blade several times a week, which leaves the skin barrier open and easily irritated. Add heat, humidity and a sun that doesn't negotiate, and the result is familiar: an oily T-zone by midday, breakouts along the jaw, dark marks that hang around for months, and tightness after shaving.
None of that needs a shelf of products. It needs four, used consistently.

The routine, start to finish
Morning (about 3 minutes):
- Cleanse. Splash, lather, rinse. Soap bars strip the barrier — a face wash doesn't.
- Serum. Three or four drops of vitamin C over the whole face. This is the step that works on dark marks and dullness.
- Moisturise. A gel cream, not a heavy balm. Oily skin still needs water; skipping moisturiser is what makes skin overproduce oil.
- Sunscreen. Two fingers' worth, every single morning, including cloudy ones. This is the non-negotiable one.
Evening (about 2 minutes): cleanse, moisturise. That's it. Serum at night too if you like — no sunscreen, obviously.
If you shave
Shave after cleansing, never before — warm, clean skin gives less resistance and fewer nicks. Go with the grain on the first pass. Then let the moisturiser do the calming; if your skin stings for an hour afterwards, your blade is old or your pressure is too heavy. And give the neck a day off when it's angry — irritation there is stubborn and comes back as bumps.

How long before it works?
Oiliness and texture settle within about two weeks. Dark marks and uneven tone take 8–12 weeks — that's not slow, that's just how skin turns over. The men who get results aren't the ones with the biggest shelf; they're the ones who did four steps every day for three months.
